How much wine do you need for a wedding?

There is no hard and fast science for deciding the right amount of wine for a wedding.... it really depends on what your guests like to drink, the structure of the day; the type of meal... and whether your wedding guests have far to travel or not!

Take the number of guests (eg: 100) ... NB - make sure you take off the children in your calculations!
Divide by 2 to give you the number of bottles you need
Decide what ratio of white wine versus red wine you need (see below for our food matching tips!. If you are not sure, go 50:50... although midsummer weddings should aim for 60:40 in favour of white. High summer weddings often use rose wine for wedding receptions as a tasty compromise!
