Very bright greenish yellow colour with intense citric aromas of pink grapefruit, passion fruit and lime. In the mouth it is fresh and citric, with intense and concentrated flavours and a lingering aftertaste.

The excellent Gautheron estate of only 18 hectares in Fleys has been in the Gautheron family for five generations. Using well-ripened Chardonnay, which is grown on flinty soils, makes very fresh and lively Petit Chablis. It has an aromatic apple nose with plenty of mineral nuances and a fresh steely palate.

Domaine Alain Gautheron is situated in the village of Fleys, to the east of the town of Chablis. This estate of only 18 hectares has been in the Gautheron family for five generations. The domaine makes traditional Chablis, with fermentation and maturation avoiding wood to preserve the fresh steely flavours and unique influence of the chalky vineyard soils.

Beautifully balanced

This wine is beautifully balanced with the elements of fruit and minerality. I drank it with roasted monkfish and it was a delicious match, lots of steely flint and great acidity. Don't over chill it.
