Very bright greenish yellow colour with intense citric aromas of pink grapefruit, passion fruit and lime. In the mouth it is fresh and citric, with intense and concentrated flavours and a lingering aftertaste.

Domaine Olivette Bandol Rose - 2007

French Regional Rose Wine 75 cl Bottle

The pretty fishing village of Bandol, south of Marseille, makes fragrant dry rosé wine regarded as the best of Provence and perhaps of all France. The Dumoutier family of Olivette make incredible, complex and supple rosé, unusually for Bandol, it represents 70% of the entire production. The estate is spread on south facing stony terraces, protected from the cold north winds. The delicate salmon pink is achieved by the saignée method of 'bleeding' the fermenting juice of Grenache, Cinsault and Mourvèdre grapes.

The domaine has been the property of the Dumoutier family since the 18th century. It nestles on the Castellet hills, with commanding views across the pretty fishing village of Bandol. The horseshoe amphitheatre of Bandols vineyards produce one of Provence`s most prestigious wines.

For the price this is a really class act. This delicious rose is a wonderful discovery that you would never find in a high street bottle shop. Thank you Wine Hound - now I can't wait until next Summer to order a whole case!!

Beautifully dry

This is a great dry rose. There is a little bit of spice from the Grenache, fruit from the Cinsault and a soft structure from the Mourvedre. Great for summer drinking.
