French Regional Rose Wine

The pretty fishing village of Bandol, south of Marseille, makes fragrant dry rosé wine regarded as the best of Provence and perhaps of all France. The Dumoutier family of Olivette make incredible, complex and supple rosé, unusually for Bandol, it represents 70% of the entire production. The estate is spread on south facing stony terraces, protected from the cold north winds. The delicate salmon pink is achieved by the saignée method of 'bleeding' the fermenting juice of Grenache, Cinsault and Mourvèdre grapes.
The domaine has been the property of the Dumoutier family since the 18th century. It nestles on the Castellet hills, with commanding views across the pretty fishing village of Bandol. The horseshoe amphitheatre of Bandols vineyards produce one of Provence`s most prestigious wines.
